Land Rover and Jaguar recall 23,677 for DC-DC converter
The converter can overload or fail at start-up, cutting 12-volt charging and, NHTSA says, drive power and exterior lighting. It expands an April recall of 170,169 vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 23,677 Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles because the DC-DC converter can malfunction. NHTSA campaign 26V599000, received on September 17, 2026, expands a recall the company filed in April.
What is wrong
The DC-DC converter keeps the vehicle's 12-volt system charged. NHTSA's summary says it may malfunction because of an electrical overload during high power demand, and that a software error can also stop it working at start-up under certain circumstances. If it fails, the 12-volt system stops charging, which can lead to a complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting. NHTSA says the loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
The campaign covers certain 2019 to 2024 Range Rover Sport, 2020 to 2024 Range Rover, Range Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport and Defender, 2021 to 2024 Range Rover Velar and Discovery, and 2021 to 2024 Jaguar E-Pace and F-Pace vehicles.
