Ford recalls 2026: every NHTSA campaign

Every vehicle safety recall in the United States is filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under a campaign number, with the defect, the risk and the remedy described in the manufacturer's own words. This page lists every campaign Ford Motor Company has filed in 2026, newest first, read from NHTSA's recall database.

Ford files more recalls than any other manufacturer, and 2026 is no exception: 65 campaigns so far, covering about 13.8 million vehicles in total. The largest is campaign 26V104000 of 2026-02-20, which covers 4,381,878 vehicles over electrical system: integrated trailer brake control. Volume alone is not a quality signal in either direction, because a manufacturer that files early and broadly produces more campaigns than one that does not, and NHTSA counts vehicles that may be affected rather than vehicles found to be faulty.

Two themes recur in the 2026 filings. The first is software: several of the largest campaigns are rearview camera faults that put the vehicle outside the federal standard on back-over prevention, and most are fixed by an update rather than a part. The second is the trailer brake controller campaign of February, which alone covers more than four million trucks and sport utilities and is the largest single campaign of the year by any manufacturer.
