Every vehicle safety recall in the United States is filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under a campaign number, setting out the defect, the risk it creates and the remedy in the manufacturer's own words. This page reads those records for Kia and lists every campaign Kia America has filed in 2026, newest first, whatever the model year.
Nine campaigns have been filed so far in 2026, covering about 775,000 vehicles when each campaign is counted separately. The largest by far is 26V430000 of July 2: 462,869 Telluride SUVs from the 2020 to 2024 model years whose front power seat motor may overheat, because of a stuck seat slide knob or an improper repair under the earlier recall 24V407, and start a fire while the car is parked or driven. Owners are told to park outside and away from structures until the repair is done, and the filing says cars already repaired under 24V407 need the new remedy, an electronic fuse assembly.
The Telluride appears in five of the nine campaigns, and all five concern seats or seat belts: the seat motor fire risk on 2020 to 2024 models, front seat back frames on 85,515 2025 models, a center seat belt buckle that may not latch on the 2027 Telluride and the 2026 K4, a driver seat belt retractor that may lock on 2027 models, and second-row power seats on the 2027 Telluride Hybrid that may not detect a person. Two campaigns carry the park-outside warning: the Telluride seat recall and 26V431000, eight EV6 and EV9 electric vehicles whose battery cells may contain misaligned electrodes, whose owners are also told to charge to no more than 80 percent. And 26V232000 covers 141,032 Carnival minivans from the 2022 to 2026 model years whose fuel may leak where the fuel pipe meets the fuel rail, the same defect Hyundai recalled on Genesis models in a campaign filed the same day.
A campaign covers particular vehicles by their identification number rather than every car of the model, so the only thing that settles whether yours is included is the free VIN lookup. Repairs under a safety recall are free at any Kia dealer, whatever the age of the car and whether or not you bought it new. How a vehicle recall remedy works covers what to do when a dealer says the parts are not ready yet.
Kia America files its recalls separately from Hyundai Motor America, so Hyundai and Genesis campaigns are on their own page. The same page exists for Honda and Acura, Toyota and Lexus and Ford and Lincoln, and every other make is on the vehicle recalls tracker.

What to do
- Put your vehicle identification number into the free federal lookup. A campaign covers specific VINs, so matching the model is not enough. nhtsa.gov
- If you own a 2020 to 2024 Telluride, check the VIN now: the cars in campaign 26V430000 should be parked outside, away from structures, until a dealer installs the electronic fuse, including cars already repaired under recall 24V407. nhtsa.gov
- If a campaign is open on your car, book the repair with a Kia dealer. It is free, and it stays free however old the car is.
- The filings give Kia customer service as 1-800-333-4542. Quote the NHTSA campaign number, or Kia’s own code from the filing, such as SC374 for the Telluride seat recall.
